Health & Safety
Keeping our staff and family safe on farm is our goal. A focus on continual improvement of all our infrastucture, machinery and operational practice is at our core. We are members of a number of Industry Organisations committed to ensuring the safety of staff and our families on farm. They include, FarmSafe WA, Women In Farming Enterprises, SEPWA, WA Farmers
Environmental Sustainability & Animal Welfare
At Karradale we are committed to the sustainability of our farm and business. We invest in soil amelioration and improvements each year along with the rehabilitation and protection of natural environments. We have recently established legume pasture species across all farms which produce organic nitrogen to aid in plant growth. In time this will reduce the reliance on applied nitrogen which is a great move toward a more sustainable style of farming practice. At Karradale our animal welfare practice is in the forefront of our minds. Karradale is a registered member of the Better Choices Audited Welfare Program, has been successfully audited by the National Wool Declaration Integrity Program via AWEX and is Livestock Production Assurance Program accredited.
Community Service & Industry Good
Being a part of a small country town - we actively contribute and volunteer to many essential organisations and groups. Newdegate Machinery Field Days, Women in Farming Enterprises, South East Premium Wheat Growers Assoc, Volunteer Fire Service, Local School Council and the Grains Industry of WA - Oats Council. Local busy bees, donations and fundraising are all core values of community living. Karradale is also a proud supporter of the Smith Family and RFDS
Contributing to WA's Economy
Our business spends millions of dollars each year to run its operation, a large proportion of this goes to West Australian business and to people directly employed in the Agricultural industry. We are proud to be an employer of full time staff along with an economic pillar for many small businesses and industries that work with us each year.
